Getting Started

Welcome to EquinoxMC! Whether you're a brand-new rider or a returning player brushing off the dust, this guide will help you get settled in and start your equestrian journey with confidence. This page follows along with the in-game tutorial, so you can reference it at any time.

🎮 Step 1: Creating Your First Horse

Use the command: /h menu

This opens the Horse Customisation Menu where you can:

  • Name your horse 🐎

  • Choose age, height, discipline, and gender

  • Pick their coat colour and any modifiers

  • Select 3 traits to define their personality or performance

Once you're happy with your selections, click Buy to spawn your horse in-game. You can repeat this process anytime to create more horses.

📋 Step 2: Selecting & Grooming Your Horse

Use the command: /h list — to view your owned horses.

To select your horse:

  • Left-click your horse to select them

  • Alternatively, open /h list and select from there

🧽 Grooming (when available) Right-click your horse ➜ select the Grooming tab Choose a tool (e.g., brush or curry comb), then left-click your horse with it in hand to groom them. Grooming keeps your horse healthy and happy!

🏇 Step 3: Tacking Up & Riding

Once your horse is clean, it's time to tack up!

  1. Right-click your horse ➜ open the Inventory tab

  2. Drag your saddle (and other tack items like girths, pads, bits, etc.) into the inventory

  3. To mount: Right-click again ➜ select the Mount tab

🏃 Changing Gaits

  • Hold a crop in your hand

  • Left-click with the crop to increase gait

  • Right-click to slow down

  • Shift to dismount

🔁 Step 4: Lunging

Use a lead to attach your horse. Then type: /h lunge — your horse will begin lunging automatically. Type the command again to stop.

🥕 Step 5: Feeding & Watering

Horses need food and water to stay healthy, especially after riding.

To purchase food and water:

  • Use /shop

  • Go to the Market tab ➜ Item Shop ➜ Consumables

To feed:

  • Right-click your horse with the item in hand

📈 Step 6: Horse Training

Training improves your horse’s stats, including:

  • Jump height

  • Stamina and endurance

Training can also unlock additional disciplines as your horse levels up.

🧍 Step 7: Player Levelling

You can level up too! Gain XP by:

  • Riding

  • Grooming

  • Mucking

  • Completing tasks or earning rewards

Use / (exact level command coming soon) to check your progress. Higher levels unlock more perks and features!

🏡 Step 8: Claiming Plots & Building

Ready to start your dream stable?

  • /plot auto ➜ Claim your first plot

  • Use /struc to access pre-built structures to enhance your stable

  • /h tphere ➜ Teleport your horse to you

  • /h tp ➜ Teleport to your horse
