Breeding on Equinox is a realistic and rewarding way to grow your herd and pass on desirable traits. It requires careful timing, proper care, and compatible horses.

🔍 Breeding Requirements

To breed, you need a fertile mare and stallion. Both must be at least 6 years old, and the mare must be in-heat for breeding to occur.

Mares will enter heat on 3 random consecutive days each month, so players must keep a close eye on their horses and plan accordingly.

❤️ Breeding Methods

There is currently one way to breed horses on Equinox, we aim to add more soon:

Assisted Breeding involves cross-tying an in-heat mare and placing a stallion nearby. After 10 minutes, breeding will take place and hearts will confirm it.

⏳ Pregnancy & Birth

Once bred, the mare remains pregnant for 3 real-life days. When the pregnancy completes, a foal is born automatically and is owned by the mare’s owner.

A foal will inherit traits from both its dam (mother) and sire (father), making strategic breeding important for developing strong bloodlines.

🧪 Artificial Insemination (Coming Soon)

Artificial insemination will be introduced in a future update, allowing breeding without both horses present by using stored stallion samples. This system will provide more flexibility for breeders and advanced programs.
