Speed

Speed determines how fast your horse moves across the different gaits, and it decides which Division (D1–D8) your horse belongs to.

πŸ“ˆ Divisions

Every horse on Equinox is assigned a Division (D1–D8) based on their maximum gallop speed. Divisions provide a fair speed category system so that horses can compete and train against others at a similar level.

  • Division 1: 45–50 mph

  • Division 2: 40–45 mph

  • Division 3: 35–40 mph

  • Division 4: 30–35 mph

  • Division 5: 25–30 mph

  • Division 6: 20–25 mph

  • Division 7: 15–20 mph

  • Division 8: 10–15 mph

➑️ Divisions show only in /h info. Exact speed stats are hidden. ➑️ Division is always based on the horse’s fastest gait (Gallop).

⏩ Speed & Gaits

Each horse can move through the four natural gaits:

  • Walk: 1–8 mph (0.4–3.3 bps)

  • Trot: 9–12 mph (3.4–7.2 bps)

  • Canter: 10–17 mph (7.3–11.3 bps)

  • Gallop: 18–50 mph (11.4–21 bps)

Training allows horses to unlock their full potential at each gait and improve efficiency over time.

πŸ“ˆ Speed Training

Riding your horse in different gaits trains multiple speed levels at once:

  • Walk β†’ trains Walk only

  • Trot β†’ trains Walk + Trot

  • Canter β†’ trains Walk + Trot + Canter

  • Gallop β†’ trains Walk + Trot + Canter + Gallop

Every 10 minutes of riding in a gait gives progress toward 1 Level in the affected gaits.
