Stamina

Stamina represents how long your horse can sustain higher gaits, especially gallop, before tiring. It is one of the most important stats for racing and training.

πŸ“Š Stamina Bar

The stamina bar is displayed on your HUD:

[||||||||||||||||||||||||||]

  • Same length as the Gait Bar.

  • Depletes as your horse runs.

  • Refills slowly over time.

βš™οΈ Key Mechanics

  • When stamina runs out, the horse will drop from Gallop β†’ Canter.

  • If the horse is overworked, it may kick the rider off.

  • Training increases stamina permanently.

  • Using stamina makes horses hungry and thirsty.

πŸ‹οΈ Stamina Training

  • Training (riding or lunging) increases stamina capacity.

  • Short-distance (sprinter) horses use stamina more quickly.

  • Long-distance (endurance) horses conserve stamina longer.

  • Higher stamina levels take longer to reach.

🌿 Recovery

Stamina will slowly regenerate, but recovery speed depends on:

  • Food β†’ low hunger makes stamina drain faster.

  • Water β†’ dehydration reduces stamina recovery.

  • Rest β†’ tired horses take longer to recover.

  • Age β†’ younger horses bounce back faster than older ones.

⏳ Age Effects

  • 4–7 years β†’ Best stamina growth through training.

  • 7–10 years β†’ Moderate growth, slower recovery.

  • 10+ years β†’ Smaller stamina gains.

  • 12+ years β†’ 5% stamina decline per year.

πŸ”’ Stamina Levels

  • Each horse has a Stamina Level (0–??).

  • Higher levels = longer endurance before slowing down.

  • Once gained, stamina levels are permanent and won’t decrease unless affected by age decline.

πŸ‡ Example in Action

  1. A horse with low stamina can gallop for 30 seconds before dropping to canter.

  2. After training stamina up, the same horse might gallop for 2 minutes before tiring.

  3. If the horse is hungry or dehydrated, it may only last half as long.
